Fitzpatrick campaign has outraised Republican opponents in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District


Incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick (R) has raised the most money in the Republican primary for Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District, taking in $3.18 million since the start of the campaign cycle. 

Fitzpatrick raised $676,283 in the fourth quarter of 2023. Mark Houck (R) has raised the next most in the primary, with $77,312 since the start of the campaign and $45,650 in the fourth quarter.

The primary will take place on April 23. Three candidates raised a combined $3.25 million through Dec. 31, 2023. Looking at all 125 congressional battlegrounds we are tracking, this is less than the average of $3.41 million. 

In battlegrounds with incumbents running, Fitzpatrick raised more than the average of $1.41 million. At this point in the 2022 election cycle, Fitzpatrick raised $724,026, $2.45 million less than his current $3.18 million. 

Nine candidates raised a combined $5.70 million running in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District in 2022, while seven raised $7.37 million in 2020.

Looking at Fitzpatrick and Houck alone: 

  • 312 donors donated to Fitzpatrick’s campaign last quarter.
  • Of those 312, the largest share, 180 (58%), donated over $1,000.
  • 29 donors donated to Houck’s campaign last quarter. 
  • Of those 29, the largest share, 12 (41%), donated between $100 and $499.
