Biden campaign has outraised Trump campaign in Washington state


Joe Biden (D) has raised the most money from Washington state of all presidential candidates, taking in $3.31 million since the start of the campaign cycle. 

Biden raised $608,096 in February. Donald Trump (R) has raised the next most from Washington, with $1.83 million since the start of the campaign and $227,260 in February. In February alone, Nikki Haley (R) raised more than Trump but less than Biden with $604,784.

Twenty-four notable presidential candidates, including those who have dropped out, raised a total of $8 million from Washington donors between Jan. 1, 2023, and Feb. 29, 2024. Thirty-five notable candidates raised $56.7 million in Washington during the 2020 election cycle, while 25 raised $24.4 million during the 2016 election cycle. 

Below is how much each presidential candidate has raised so far from Washington in the 2023-2024 election cycle:

Looking at the top two fundraisers in February — Biden and Haley:

  • 3,639 individual donations were made to Biden’s campaign in February.
  • Of those 3,639, the largest share, 1,204 (33%), was between $100 and $499.
  • 2,447 individual donations were made to Haley’s campaign in February. 
  • Of those 2,447, the largest share, 666 (27%), was between $25 and $49. 

Biden has raised 41% of the money donated in Washington this election cycle. He received 58% of the vote in 2020. Trump has raised 23% of the money donated in Washington this election cycle. He received 39% of the vote in 2020.
