President Donald Trump’s (R) approval ratings in his second term did not change from January, while the 119th Congress’s approval rating improved.
At the end of January 2026, polling averages showed Trump’s approval rating was 42%, the same as it was in November and December 2025. Fifty-five percent of voters disapproved of his performance. The highest approval rating Trump has received is 54%, last seen on Jan. 22, 2025. The lowest was on December 8, 2025, when his approval rating was 41%.

At the end of January 2026, congressional approval was at 23% and disapproval was at 68%. The lowest approval rating the 119th Congress has received is 14%, last seen on Nov. 10, 2025. The highest approval rating it has received is 37%, last seen on July 1, 2025.
At this time during Trump’s first term in office, presidential approval was three points lower at 39%, and congressional approval was seven points lower at 16%. At this point during the Biden administration, presidential approval was 41%, and congressional approval was six points lower at 17%.
