President Donald Trump (R) and the 119th Congress saw their lowest approval ratings of Trump’s second term in April.
At the end of April, approval polling averages showed Trump at 41% approval. Fifty-seven percent of voters disapproved of his performance. The lowest average approval rating of his second term was 40%, last seen on April 28, 2026. The highest average approval rating Trump has received in his second term was 54%, last seen on Jan. 22, 2025.

At the end of April, average congressional approval was 21% and disapproval was 64%. The lowest average approval rating the 119th Congress has received was 12%, last seen on April 28, 2026. The highest average approval rating it has received was 37%, last seen on July 1, 2025.
At this time during Trump’s first term in office, presidential approval was one point higher at 42%, and congressional approval was five points lower at 16%. At this point in the Biden administration, presidential approval was 41%, and congressional approval was four points higher at 25%.
