Incumbent Sen. Daniel S. Sullivan (R), Mary Peltola (D), Gerald Heikes (R), and Dan Sullivan(R) are running in the general election for the U.S. Senate in Alaska on Nov. 3, 2026. Daniel S. Sullivan and Peltola lead in polls, noteworthy endorsements, and fundraising.

The four candidates who received the most votes during the top-four primary election on Aug. 18, 2026, advanced to the general election. Peltola received 49.5% of the vote, Daniel S. Sullivan received 41.4%, Dan Sullivan received 2.5%, and David Leslie (D) received 1.1%. Since Leslie withdrew from the race ahead of the deadline on Aug. 31, 2026, fifth-place finisher Heikes advanced to the general election instead. Heikes received 1% of the vote in the primary election.

The 2026 election is the second time that Alaska will use ranked-choice voting (RCV) in a general election for the U.S. Senate since voters passed a 2020 ballot measure establishing the practice.

According to ABC News' Emily Chang,"The Last Frontier State voted for Trump during all three of his presidential runs but Democrats are hoping rising prices and dissatisfaction with his administration could swing more moderate voters in their favor."

Daniel S. Sullivan was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2014. He previously served as Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Natural Resources from 2010 to 2013 and as Alaska Attorney General from 2009 to 2010. His professional experience includes working as a lawyer and as Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs. From 1993 to 2024, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Sullivan is running on his experience. According to his campaign website, "From passing the biggest tax cut in American history and unleashing Alaska's energy potential, to making historic investments in our military and national defense and strengthening Alaska's healthcare system, Dan is running for re-election to continue delivering real results for Alaska."

Peltola represented Alaska's At-Large Congressional District from 2022 to 2025. She previously served on the Bethel City Council from 2011 to 2013 and in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1999 to 2009. Peltola's professional experience includes working as a commercial fisher, as the community development manager for the Donlin gold mine project, and as executive director of the Kuskokwim River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission.

Peltola is running on bipartisanship. She said, "I'm in this fight to fix the rigged system in DC, lower gas, grocery, healthcare, and housing costs for hardworking Alaskans, restore our fisheries, and put Alaska first. I will be an independent voice for Alaska — listening to Alaskans, not DC insiders. Together, we can restore abundance and deliver real relief for hardworking Alaskans."

As of Sept. 8, 2026, The Cook Political Report, DDHQ/The Hill, and Sabato's Crystal Ball rated the general election as a Toss-up. Inside Elections rated it Tilt Republican.
