From Jan. 22, 2024, through Jan. 26, 2024, the Federal Register grew by 1,544 pages for a year-to-date total of 5,420 pages.
The Federal Register hit an all-time high of 95,894 pages in 2016.

- 425 notices
- One presidential document
- 32 proposed rules
- 72 final rules
Six proposed rules, including one that proposed limiting water pollution by meat and poultry products from the Environmental Protection Agency; four final rules, including a rule that updated prohibited transaction exemption guidelines for retirement plan fiduciaries from the Employee Benefits Security Administration; and no notices were deemed significant under E.O. 12866, as amended by E.O. 14094—defined by the potential to have large impacts on the economy, environment, public health, or state or local governments. Significant actions may also conflict with presidential priorities or other agency rules. The Biden administration in 2024 has issued 18 significant proposed rules, 15 significant final rules, and no significant notices as of Jan. 26, 2024.
