Both candidates for Marysville, Wash., City Council complete Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey


Both candidates running for Position 3 on the Marysville, Wash., City Council—Amber Cantu and Dan Perkins—completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

All survey respondents are asked to tell voters about their three key campaign messages. In Marysville, both candidates listed public safety as one of those key points. Excerpts are shown below.

Cantu:

“Having worked alongside medics, law enforcement, and First Responders within my professional capacity I have developed a deep respect and honor for our First Responders. I feel it is vital to maintain funding for our Civic leaders in these positions.”

Perkins:

“Commitment to our top notch police and Fire must include resources necessary to effectively address the persistence of substance abuse, theft, and mental health issues. Compassionate yet unwavering standards of public safety elevate us all.”
