Both candidates for Caroline County, Va., Treasurer complete Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey

Both candidates running in a Feb. 3 special election for Caroline County, Va., Treasurer—Zachary R. Hulo and C. Priscilla Voit—completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

All survey respondents are asked to tell voters about their three key campaign messages. Both candidates listed community relations as one of those key points. Excerpts are shown below.

Hulo:

“As Treasurer, I will foster a culture where employees are supported, well-trained, and empowered to serve the public effectively. By prioritizing customer service and teamwork, the Treasurer’s Office can operate efficiently while providing a positive experience for residents and businesses.”

Voit:

“Priscilla is dedicated to replacing 'government-speak' with clear, accessible instructions. Her goal is to demystify the Treasurer’s office by working alongside community organizations to provide residents with the financial information they need to succeed. She believes citizens deserve a partner in local government, not a barrier.”
