Richmond, Calif., City Council candidates talk public safety in Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey

Both candidates running in the June 2 primary for Richmond City Council District 4—Soheila Bana and Jamin Pursell—completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

All survey respondents are asked to tell voters about their three key campaign messages. In Ramsey, both candidates listed public safety as one of those key points. Excerpts are shown below.

Bana:

I work to ensure our emergency services are fully staffed and equipped and residents are prepared for any public emergency. I will continue to enhance community resiliency by identifying all potential Community Resiliency Centers and bringing them up to code.

Pursell:

District 4 deserves safe, responsive neighborhoods. Public safety means fully staffed emergency services, better lighting, safer streets, wildfire preparedness, neighborhood-based prevention, and real follow-through when residents raise concerns.
