In October 2026, Ballotpedia is tracking nine elections across seven states. These include no statewide elections, four special elections held to fill vacancies in four states, and three recall elections in three states.

Last month, Ballotpedia tracked 995 elections across 14 states. This included four statewide elections, 12 special elections, and two recall elections.

In October 2024, Ballotpedia tracked 10 elections in five states, and in October 2022, Ballotpedia tracked seven elections in four states.

This month, no states have statewide elections.

This month, no federal and state-level special elections have been called.

Ballotpedia is also tracking nine municipal elections in seven states. This includes four special municipal elections. Below is a list of local special elections that overlap state capitals, the 100 largest cities by population, or the 200 largest school districts by enrollment:

• Oct. 13: Montgomery (Alabama) City Council District 3 special general runoff

The following recall elections have been called:

• Oct. 6: Town Board Chairman Roger Anclam in Turtle, Wisconsin
• Oct. 13: Lake County School District school board member Amanda O’Bryan in Oregon
• Oct. 13: Loveland Rural Fire Protection District Board President Paul Bukowski in Colorado
