    On May 27, 2020, Connecticut Supreme Court Justice Richard Palmer stepped down from the court after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.     Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont (D) announced that schools in the state would remain closed to in-person instruction for the remainder of the 2019-2020 academic year.
