Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey: Milwaukee Common Council roundup


Wisconsin is holding elections, including for Milwaukee Common Council, on Feb. 21, 2023. A number of candidates running in these elections completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Amber Danyus is running for Milwaukee Common Council District 9 and the special primary election is on Feb. 21. Here’s how Danyus responded to the question: “What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?”

“As a Mother, and an educator, I am always looking for ways to make our neighborhood, our community, and our city a safer and healthier place for our kids. I strongly believe that what’s best for our children is what’s best for all of us. As Alderwoman, I want to bring the wealth of resources in our city to the folks who need them and empower everyone to thrive. …”

Bruce Winter is running for Milwaukee Common Council District 5 and the special primary election is on Feb. 21. Here’s how Winter responded to the question: “What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?”

“Stopping the reckless driving starting with the young people in our community. I would like to start an Impact 4 Life program in our high schools.”
