Six candidates have filed to appear on Kentucky’s Republican presidential primary ballot


The filing deadline for the Kentucky Republican presidential primary passed on Jan. 5, 2024. Six candidates filed to appear on the May 21, 2024, ballot. In order to file, candidates had to submit a petition containing 5,000 signatures. 

The following candidates filed:

  • Ryan Binkley
  • Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
  • Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley
  • Vivek Ramaswamy 
  • Former President Donald Trump 

Binkley, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Christie, DeSantis, Haley, Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Ramaswamy, David Stuckenberg, and Trump have all filed to participate in five or more nominating contests.
