All candidates for Ohio House of Representatives District 72 complete Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey

Both of the candidates running in the Nov. 5, 2024, general election for Ohio House of Representatives District 72 — Nathaniel Adams (D) and Heidi Workman (R) — completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Here are the candidates’ responses to the question: What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

Adams:

“As it says in the title, represent. The State Representative should represent the voice and stance of their constituents. Last year, Ohio rejected the legislature’s blatant attempt to take away voting rights in August and then enshrined women’s healthcare rights into our state constitution in November. Portage County rejected the August special election with 58% of the vote and guaranteed women’s healthcare rights with 60% of the vote. This is the will of the people, and they deserve a State Representative who speaks for them on both fronts—not someone who will try to overturn their votes.”

Workman:

“Represent and fight for the values of Portage County and the people of Portage County at the Statehouse in Columbus, every minute of every day. In the last decade, the people of Portage County have increasingly voted for conservative candidates. I believe I am best positioned, as a conservative, to represent them, fight for them and champion their values.”
