Both candidates for Minnesota’s 6th District Court Position 6 complete Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey

Both candidates running in the general election for Position 6 on Minnesota’s 6th District Court—Gunnar B. Johnson and Shawn Reed—completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Minnesota’s 6th Judicial District covers the northeastern portion of the state, including Carlton, Cook, Lake, and St. Louis Counties.

All survey respondents are asked to tell voters what they believe are the core responsibilities of the office they are running for. Excerpts are shown below.

Johnson:

“Sound judgment, hard work, and listening are the core responsibilities of this position.”

Reed:

“The core responsibility for district court judge is the administration of justice. That is addressed by the application of law to facts and the manner in which persons appearing in court are treated.”
