The Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee held a confirmation hearing for Brooke Rollins for secretary of Agriculture on Jan. 23, 2025. At the time the hearing ended, the committee had not scheduled a meeting to vote on her nomination. Rollins must receive a majority approval vote in the committee before her nomination can be put up for a confirmation vote before the full Senate.
President Donald Trump (R) nominated Rollins on Nov. 23, 2024. Trump said of Rollins’ nomination, “Brooke’s commitment to support the American Farmer, defense of American Food Self-Sufficiency, and the restoration of Agriculture-dependent American Small Towns is second to none.”
The Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee is chaired by Sen. John Boozman (R-Ark.) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) is the ranking Democratic member. To watch the full hearing, click here.
