Incumbent Daniel Goldman (D), Nickie Kane (D), and Brad Lander (D) are running in the Democratic primary for New York's 10th Congressional District on June 23, 2026. The filing deadline was April 6, 2026. As of April 2026, Goldman and Lander led in endorsements, fundraising, and local media attention.

CNN's Gloria Pazmino said the race is "expected to be a heated primary in one of the city’s most left-leaning districts. The race will serve as a test for the city’s left-leaning progressive movement after it most recently helped deliver Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s win." Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D) endorsed Goldman. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) endorsed Lander. Goldman defeated incumbent Mondaire Jones (D) 25.9%–18.1% in 2022 and challenger Evan Hutchison (D) 64.9%–23.1% in 2024.

Goldman was first elected to the House in 2022. Goldman says he is running "to continue to lead the fight for affordability, democracy, and our fundamental rights in the face of an authoritarian federal government." Goldman is running on his record in the House and as a former federal prosecutor who led House Democrats' investigation during the first impeachment of President Trump. Goldman's campaign website highlights his legislative record, including "Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and legislation supporting social security, organized labor, paid family leave, and affordable housing."

Lander is the former New York City Comptroller and a former member of the New York City Council. Lander ran for mayor in 2025, placing third in the primary behind Zohran Mamdani (D) and Andrew Cuomo (D). Lander says he is running "because at this urgent moment, we need leaders who will fight, not fold." In an interview with Spectrum News, Lander said of Goldman, "somebody who’s a quarter-billionaire, who’s got all that outside spending on his behalf, is not going to stand up and fight for working-class people for the change we need."

As of April 2026, major election forecasters rated the general election Solid/Safe Democratic. Goldman defeated Alexander Dodenhoff (R) 81.0%–14.8% in 2024.
