Christina Hines (D), Michael Bouchard (R), and three other candidates are running in the general election for Michigan's 10th Congressional District on November 3, 2026.

Incumbent John James (R) is running for governor rather than seeking re-election. James was elected 48.8%–48.3% in 2022 and 51.1%–45.0% in 2024. President Donald Trump (R) defeated Kamala Harris (D) 52.2%–45.7% in the 2024 presidential election in the 10th District.

Both the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee are targeting the 10th District. As of August 2026, major election forecasters rated the general election Lean Republican, Tilt Republican, or Toss-up.

Hines is a former prosecutor and law professor. Hines' campaign website says, "I know how hard it is to get by - paying for groceries, healthcare, childcare and more - and how important it is that we protect our children and honor our seniors. I refuse to stand idly by while billionaires leave working families like ours in the lurch. I am a Mom on a Mission fighting to lower costs, protect families, and defend our democracy."

Bouchard is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Iraq and at the U.S.-Mexico border. Bouchard's campaign website says, "Now, after nearly a decade in uniform, Mike is stepping up to fight for the communities that built him. Grounded in faith, family, and country, Captain Mike Bouchard represents a new generation of leadership — one that still believes in duty, honor, and discipline."

Minor party, independent, and write-in candidates include Kwabena Nkromo (G), Mike Saliba (L), and Andrea Kirby (Working Class Party).

As of July 15, 2026, Hines had raised $1.21 million and Bouchard had raised $1.47 million.

The outcome of this race will affect the partisan balance of the U.S. House of Representatives in the 120th Congress. All 435 U.S. House districts are up for election.

Currently, Republicans have a 219-212 majority with four vacancies in the U.S. House.
