The Senate Finance Committee held a confirmation hearing for Jamieson Greer for U.S. trade representative on Feb. 6, 2025. At the time the hearing ended, the committee had not scheduled a meeting to vote on his nomination. Greer must receive a majority approval vote in the committee before his nomination can be put up for a confirmation vote before the full Senate.

Trump said of Greer’s nomination, “Jamieson will focus the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on reining in the Country’s massive Trade Deficit, defending American Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Services, and opening up Export Markets everywhere.”
The Senate Finance Committee is chaired by Sen. Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) is the ranking Democratic member. To watch the full hearing, click here.
