Nine candidates file to appear on Minnesota’s Democratic presidential primary ballot


The internal party filing deadline for the Minnesota Democratic presidential primary passed on Dec. 12, 2023. The party is required to submit this list of candidates to the Minnesota secretary of state before Jan. 2, 2024. Nine candidates filed to appear on the March 5, 2024, ballot. There were no signature or filing fee requirements. 

The following candidates filed:

  • President Joe Biden
  • Eban Cambridge
  • Gabriel Cornejo
  • Frankie Lozada
  • Jason Palmer
  • Armando Perez-Serrato
  • Dean Phillips
  • Cenk Uygur
  • Marianne Williamson

Biden, Cornejo, Lozada, Perez-Serrato, Phillips, and Williamson have filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. See the chart below for an overview of the number of candidates who have filed in each Democratic presidential primary contest.

The next Democratic presidential primary filing deadline will take place on December 14, 2023, in Virginia.
