Nine candidates file to appear on Arizona’s Republican presidential primary ballot


The filing deadline for the Arizona Republican presidential primary passed on Dec. 11, 2023. Nine candidates filed to appear on the March 19, 2024, ballot. In order to file, candidates had to either prove they had qualified for two other state primary ballots or submit a petition containing 500 signatures. 

The following candidates filed:

  • Ryan Binkley
  • John Anthony Castro
  • Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
  • Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley
  • Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson
  • Vivek Ramaswamy 
  • David Stuckenberg
  • Former President Donald Trump 

Binkley, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Christie, DeSantis, Haley, Hutchinson, Ramaswamy, Stuckenberg, and Trump have all filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. The next Republican presidential primary filing deadline will take place on Dec. 20, 2023, in Ohio.
