Six candidates file to appear on Vermont’s Democratic presidential primary ballot


The filing deadline for the Vermont Democratic presidential primary passed on Dec. 15, 2023. Six candidates filed to appear on the March 5, 2024, ballot. In order to file, candidates had to pay a $2,000 filing fee and submit a petition containing 1,000 signatures. 

The following candidates filed:

  • President Joe Biden
  • Mark Stewart Greenstein
  • Jason Michael Palmer
  • Former U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips
  • Cenk Uygur
  • Marianne Williamson

Biden, Gabriel Cornejo, Frankie Lozada, Stephen Lyons, Armando Perez-Serrato, Phillips, and Williamson have filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. See the chart below for an overview of the number of candidates who have filed in each Democratic presidential primary contest.

The next Democratic presidential primary filing deadline will take place on Dec. 20, 2023, in Ohio.
