Eight candidates filed to appear on Colorado’s Democratic presidential primary ballot


The filing deadline for the Colorado Democratic presidential primary passed on Dec. 11, 2023, and the ballot listing was certified on Jan. 5, 2024. Eight candidates filed to appear on the March 5, 2024, ballot. In order to file, candidates had to submit a petition containing 5,000 signatures or pay a $500 filing fee. 

The following candidates filed:

  • President Joe Biden
  • Gabriel Cornejo
  • Frank J. Lozada
  • Stephen Lyons
  • Jason Palmer
  • Armando Perez-Serrato
  • Former U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips
  • Marianne Williamson

Biden, Cornejo, Lozada, Lyons, Palmer, Perez-Serrato, Phillips, Cenk Uygur, and Williamson have filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. See the chart below for an overview of the number of candidates who have filed in each Democratic presidential primary contest.
