Five candidates will appear on Washington’s Republican presidential primary ballot


The deadline for state parties to submit candidates to the Washington secretary of state for the Washington Republican presidential primary passed on Jan. 9, 2024. Five candidates will appear on the March 12, 2024, ballot.

The following candidates were listed:

  • Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie
  • Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
  • Former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley
  • Vivek Ramaswamy
  • Former President Donald Trump 

Ryan Binkley, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Christie, DeSantis, Haley, Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, Ramaswamy, David Stuckenberg, and Trump have all filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. The next Republican presidential primary filing deadline will take place on January 11, 2024, in Rhode Island.
