Three candidates will appear on Washington’s Democratic presidential primary ballot


The deadline for state parties to submit candidates to the Washington secretary of state for the Washington Democratic presidential primary passed on Jan. 9, 2024. The internal party filing deadline was on Jan. 6, 2024. Three candidates filed to appear on the March 12, 2024, ballot. In order to file with the party, candidates had to submit a petition containing 1,000 signatures and pay a $2,500 filing fee. 

The following candidates filed:

  • President Joe Biden
  • Former U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips
  • Marianne Williamson

Biden, Gabriel Cornejo, Frank Lozada, Stephen Lyons, Jason Palmer, Armando Perez-Serrato, Phillips, Cenk Uygur, and Williamson have filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. The next Democratic presidential primary filing deadline will take place on Jan. 11, 2024, in Rhode Island.
