Two candidates filed to appear on Ohio’s Democratic presidential primary ballot


The filing deadline for the Ohio Democratic presidential primary passed on Dec. 20, 2023, and the ballot was certified on Jan. 9, 2024. Two candidates filed to appear on the March 19, 2024, ballot.  In order to file, candidates had to submit a petition containing 1,000 signatures. 

The following candidates filed:

  • President Joe Biden
  • Former U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips

Biden, Gabriel Cornejo, Frank Lozada, Stephen Lyons, Jason Palmer, Armando Perez-Serrato, Phillips, Cenk Uygur, and Marianne Williamson have filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. The next Democratic presidential primary filing deadline will take place on Jan. 11, 2024, in Rhode Island.
