All candidates for Winston-Salem City Council Northwest Ward Republican primary complete Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey

Both of the candidates running in the March 5, 2024, Republican primary for Winston-Salem City Council Northwest Ward — Herbert I. Burns Jr. (R) and Jimmy Hodson (R) — completed Ballotpedia’s Candidate Connection survey. These survey responses allow voters to hear directly from candidates about what motivates them to run for office.

Here are the candidates’ responses to the question: What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Burns Jr.:

“Public safety, and the future development of our city.”

Hodson:

“My main concern is a safe and healthy community for the good people who call Winston home. We can’t expect to attract new economic development to our city if we can’t deliver on that promise for our citizens.”
