Connecticut’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature five presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:
- Kamala Harris / Tim Walz (D)
- Donald Trump / J.D. Vance (R)
- Jill Stein / Butch Ware (G)
- Chase Oliver / Mike ter Maat (L)
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. / Nicole Shanahan (Independent)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the presidential election in August, but will still appear on Connecticut’s ballot.
This is the most candidates on Connecticut’s presidential ballot since at least 2008. In 2020, Connecticut’s ballot had four candidates: Joe Biden (D), Donald Trump (R), Jo Jorgensen (L), and Howie Hawkins (G). Biden won Connecticut that year with 59.3% of the vote, followed by Trump with 39.2%, Jorgensen with 1.1%, and Hawkins with 0.4%.
As of Oct. 20, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball rated the state as solid Democratic. Democratic candidates have won Connecticut in each of the last eight presidential elections. The last Republican candidate to win Connecticut was George H.W. Bush in 1988.
Connecticut has seven electoral votes, tied with Oklahoma for the state with the 28th most electoral votes. Connecticut neither gained nor lost electoral votes following the 2020 census.
