Five presidential tickets will appear on the ballot in Delaware this November


Delaware’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature five presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the presidential election in August, but will still appear on Delaware’s ballot.

From 2012 to 2020, Delaware had four candidates on its presidential ballot, and in 2008 it had six candidates on its presidential ballot. In 2020, Delaware’s ballot featured: Joe Biden (D), Donald Trump (R), Jo Jorgensen (L), and Howie Hawkins (G).  Biden won Delaware that year with 58.7% of the vote, followed by Trump with 39.8%, Jorgensen with 1%, and Hawkins with 0.4%.

As of Oct. 20, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball all rated the state as solid Democratic. Democratic candidates have won Delaware in each of the last eight presidential elections. The last Republican candidate to win Delaware was in 1988.

Delaware has three electoral votes, tied with five other states and Washington, D.C., for the fewest electoral votes. Delaware neither gained nor lost electoral votes following the 2020 census.
