Oregon’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature seven presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:
- Kamala Harris / Tim Walz (D)
- Donald Trump / J.D. Vance (R)
- Randall Terry (no running mate) (Constitution Party)
- Chase Oliver / Mike ter Maat (L)
- Jill Stein / Butch Ware (Pacific Green Party)
- Cornel West (no running mate) (Progressive Party)
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. / Nicole Shanahan (We the People)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running as an independent, withdrew from the presidential election in August, but will still appear on Oregon’s ballot as the We the People party’s presidential nominee. Randall Terry’s national running mate is Stephen Broden and Cornel West’s national running mate is Melina Abdullah, but both candidates will appear on Oregon’s ballot without a running mate.
This is the most candidates on Oregon’s presidential ballot since at least 2008. In 2020, Oregon’s ballot had five candidates: Joe Biden (D), Trump, Jo Jorgensen (L), Howie Hawkins (G), and one other minor party candidate. Biden won Oregon that year with 56.5% of the vote, followed by Trump with 40.4%, Jorgensen with 1.8%, and Hawkins with 0.5%.
As of Oct. 26, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball all rated the state as solid Democratic. Oregon was carried by the Democratic presidential nominee in every election between 1988 and 2020; the last Republican to carry the state was in 1984.
Oregon has eight electoral votes, tied with Kentucky and Louisiana for the states with the 25th most electoral votes. Oregon gained one electoral vote following the 2020 census.
Oregon’s general election ballot will also feature five ballot measures and elections for the U.S. House of Representatives, other state executive offices, and the Oregon State Senate, among others.
