Washington’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature 10 presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:
- Kamala Harris / Tim Walz (D)
- Donald Trump / J.D. Vance (R)
- Jill Stein / Butch Ware (G)
- Cornel West / Melina Abdullah (Justice for All)
- Chase Oliver / Mike ter Maat (L)
- Claudia De La Cruz / Karina Garcia (Party for Socialism and Liberation)
- Joseph Kishore / Jerry White (Socialist Equality Party)
- Rachele Fruit / Dennis Richter (Socialist Workers Party)
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. / Nicole Shanahan (We the People)
- Shiva Ayyadurai / Crystal Ellis (Independent)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running as an independent, withdrew from the presidential election in August, but will still appear on Washington’s ballot as the We the People party’s presidential nominee.
This is the most candidates on Washington’s presidential ballot since at least 2008. In 2020, Washington’s ballot had six candidates: Joe Biden (D), Trump, Jo Jorgensen (L), Howie Hawkins (G), and two other minor party candidates. Biden won Washington that year with 58% of the vote, followed by Trump with 38.8%, Jorgensen with 2.0%, and Hawkins with 0.4%. No other candidate received more than 0.1% of the vote.
As of Oct. 28, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball all rated the state as solid Democratic. Washington was carried by the Democratic candidate in the nine elections between 1988 and 2020 and by the Republican candidate in the four elections between 1972 and 1984.
Washington has 12 electoral votes, the 13th most electoral votes of all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Washington neither gained nor lost electoral votes following the 2020 census.
