All three Democratic Party fundraising committees saw highest monthly fundraising totals of the 2024 election cycle in August


As of Aug. 31, 2024, the end of the most recent party committee campaign finance filing period, the three committees associated with the Democratic Party have raised a cumulative $809 million and spent $715 million for the 2024 election cycle, while the three committees associated with the Republican Party have raised $715 million and spent $560 million.

The three Democratic committees are the Democratic National Committee (DNC), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). The three Republican committees are the Republican National Committee (RNC), National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

All three of the Democratic committees saw their highest monthly fundraising totals so far this cycle in August. The NRSC also saw its highest monthly fundraising numbers in August, while the RNC saw its highest and the NRCC saw its eighth highest month.

The DCCC maintains a lead over the NRCC in cumulative receipts, disbursements, and cash on hand as of August 31. The RNC leads the DNC in cash on hand, while the DNC maintains its lead in receipts and disbursements. The NRSC leads the DSCC in receipts and disbursements, while the DSCC leads in cash on hand. Compared to previous cycles, the Democratic committees’ cumulative receipts as of August ($809 million) outpace their receipts at this point in the 2020 election cycle ($695 million) and in the 2022 election cycle ($698 million). On the Republican side, the three committees have raised $715 million as of last month, which is lower than their August 2020 fundraising total ($891 million) and their August 2022 fundraising total ($711 million).
