North Carolina attorney general raises $2.3 million this election cycle


According to the most recent campaign finance reports filed with the North Carolina State Board of Elections, North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein has raised $2.3 million and spent $546,806 between Jan. 1, 2021, and Apr. 30, 2022. Stein has raised more money than any other state-level candidate in the 2022 election cycle.

Stein is a member of the DemocraticParty and assumed office in 2017. In North Carolina, the attorney general is an elected position. The primary job of a state attorney general is to serve as chief legal adviser to the agencies and legislative organs that make up his or her state’s government, in addition to the citizens residing within the state. Stein’s current term ends in 2025.
