Results in the five most expensive Republican Minnesota House primaries


Republican primary elections for all 134 districts in the Minnesota House of Representatives took place on Aug. 9, 2022. Of the 134 districts up for election in 2022, 15 had a Republican primary election with more than one candidate.

Across all contested Republican primary elections, candidates raised $503,351. Incumbents raised an average of $61,268 per candidate and challengers raised an average of $6,567 per candidate.

Five primary elections with the most fundraising

The table below details the five Republican primary elections with the most fundraising in the House of Representatives. Winning candidates’ names are in bold.

Incumbent Erik Mortensen raised $115,776 and Bob Loonan raised $13,725.

Erik Mortensen advanced to the general election with 55 percent of the vote and Bob Loonan received 45 percent of the vote.

#2 District 26B – $57,670

Incumbent Greg Davids raised $57,670 and Laura Thorson raised $0.

Greg Davids advanced to the general election with 76 percent of the vote and Laura Thorson received 24 percent of the vote.

#3 District 10B – $56,689

Isaac Schultz raised $33,837, Blake Paulson raised $19,142, and John Ulrick raised $3,710.

Isaac Schultz advanced to the general election with 58 percent of the vote, Blake Paulson received 34 percent of the vote, and John Ulrick received 9 percent of the vote.

#4 District 27B – $55,576

Incumbent Kurt Daudt raised $55,576 and Rachel Davis raised $0.

Kurt Daudt advanced to the general election with 73 percent of the vote and Rachel Davis received 27 percent of the vote.

#5 District 6B – $53,019

Incumbent Josh Heintzeman raised $49,051 and Doug Kern raised $3,968.

Josh Heintzeman advanced to the general election with 81 percent of the vote and Doug Kern received 19 percent of the vote.
