Eight presidential tickets will appear on the ballot in Colorado this November

Colorado’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature eight presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running as an independent, withdrew from the presidential election in August, but will still appear on Colorado’s ballot as an unaffiliated candidate.

This is 13 fewer candidates on Colorado’s presidential ballot compared to 2020. In 2020, Colorado’s ballot had 21 candidates: Joe Biden (D), Donald Trump (R), Jo Jorgensen (L), Howie Hawkins (G), and 17 other independent and minor party candidates.  Biden won Colorado that year with 55.4% of the vote, followed by Trump with 41.9%, Jorgensen with 1.6%, and Hawkins with 0.3%. No other candidate received more than 0.2% of the vote.

As of Oct. 18, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball rated the state as solid Democratic. In the past 11 presidential elections, the Republican candidate has won Colorado six times and the Democratic candidate has won Colorado five times. The Democratic candidate has won the state in the last four presidential elections in a row.

Colorado has 10 electoral votes, tied with five other states for the 18th most electoral votes. Colorado gained one electoral vote following the 2020 census.

Colorado’s general election ballot will also feature 14 ballot measures, and elections for the U.S. House of Representatives, Colorado state executive offices, and the Colorado State Senate, among others.
