Pennsylvania’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature four presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:
- Kamala Harris / Tim Walz (D)
- Donald Trump / J.D. Vance (R)
- Jill Stein / Samson Kpadenou (G)
- Chase Oliver / Mike ter Maat (L)
Stein’s running mate is Butch Ware, but she filed to appear on Pennsylvania’s ballot before selecting Ware, so she will appear on Pennsylvania’s ballot with Kpadenou instead.
There is one more candidate on Pennsylvania’s presidential ballot this cycle compared to 2020. In 2020, Pennsylvania’s ballot had three candidates: Joe Biden (D), Donald Trump (R), and Jo Jorgensen (L). Biden won Pennsylvania that year with 50.0% of the vote, followed by Trump with 48.8%, and Jorgensen with 1.1%.
As of Oct. 26, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball all rated the state as a Toss-up. Between 1900 and 2020, Pennsylvania was carried by the Republican presidential candidate in 51.6% of elections and by the Democratic candidate in 45.2%.
Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes, tied with Illinois for the states with the 5th most electoral votes. Pennsylvania lost one electoral vote following the 2020 census.
Pennsylvania’s general election ballot will also feature elections for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, other state executive offices, and the Pennsylvania State Senate, among others.
