Nine presidential tickets will appear on the ballot in New Jersey this November

New Jersey’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature nine presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:

Jill Stein’s running mate is Butch Ware, but she filed to appear on New Jersey’s ballot before selecting Ware, so she will appear on New Jersey’s ballot with Kpadenou instead. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the presidential election in August, but will still appear on New Jersey’s ballot.

There is one more candidate on New Jersey’s presidential ballot compared to 2020. In 2020, New Jersey’s ballot had eight candidates: Joe Biden (D), Donald Trump (R), Jo Jorgensen (L), Howie Hawkins (G), and four other minor party candidates. Biden won New Jersey that year with 57.3% of the vote, followed by Trump with 41.4%, Jorgensen with 0.7%, and Hawkins with 0.3%. No other candidate received more than 0.1% of the vote.

As of Oct. 25, The Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball all rated the state as solid Democratic. New Jersey favored Democratic presidential candidates in the six elections between 2000 and 2020.

New Jersey has 14 electoral votes, the 11th most electoral votes of all 50 states and the District of Columbia. New Jersey neither gained nor lost electoral votes following the 2020 census.

New Jersey’s general election ballot will also feature elections for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, multiple New Jersey school boards, and multiple municipal government offices, among others.
