Democrats hold 841 state Senate seats and 2,425 state House seats, gaining two seats overall since last month. Republicans hold 1,112 state Senate seats and 2,939 state House seats, having no net change since last month.
Independent or third-party legislators hold 23 seats across ten different states, including 19 state House seats and four state Senate seats. There are 30 vacant state House seats and 16 vacant state Senate seats across 20 states.
