Five presidential tickets will appear on the ballot in Ohio this November


Ohio’s Nov. 5, 2024, general election ballot will feature five presidential candidates and their running mates. They are:

Peter Sonski is the American Solidarity Party’s presidential nominee, but will appear on Ohio’s ballot as an independent.

There is one more candidate on Ohio’s presidential ballot this cycle compared to 2020. In 2020, Ohio’s ballot had four candidates: Joe Biden (D), Trump, Jo Jorgensen (L), and Howie Hawkins (G). Trump won Ohio that year with 53.3% of the vote, followed by Biden with 45.2%, Jorgensen with 1.1%, and Hawkins with 0.3%.

As of Oct. 28, The Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball rated the state as solid Republican and Inside Elections rated the state as likely Republican. In the last 10 presidential elections, the Republican candidate won the state six times, and the Democratic candidate won the state four times.

Ohio has 17 electoral votes, the 7th most electoral votes of all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Ohio lost one electoral vote following the 2020 census.
